What is Freemasonry? The definition in the English Lectures is most often quoted, which says that "Freemasonry is a peculiar system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.'' But a more comprehensive and exact definition is, that it is a science which is engaged in the search after Divine Truth, and which employs symbolism as its method of instruction." Albert G. Mackey, Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, 1873

To our readers of this page, be you a Mason or a non-Mason. On this page we will list web sites that you may find interesting to read. Our web page concerns itself with the Detroit Masonic Temple and the activities therein. The web sites and links on this page cover many topics but mostly will try to explain "What is Freemasonry?" I hope you enjoy reading their work. Most Masonic web sites have a full page of a zillion links, you can find those on any Grand Lodge site, like Michigan's. There is no need for me to compete with them and list them all here. My goal is to list here, a handful of very useful web sites that will answer your questions, and that you may not otherwise ever found on your own. As I find more web sites, I will add those that might interest you, so please check back on a monthly basis. Enjoy!! E-M@son Masonic Links has a great site that list 2,048 Masonic website

The Grand Commandery of Indiana has a video on You Tube about York Rite Masonry that is a wonderful piece. Check here to play.

The first site is maintained by a Mason from Washington DC, and his specialty is compiling lists of web pages and topics and Masonic articles. This site has more than you can read in one day. But when another Mason wants an answer, he goes here www.bessel.org

Masonic Dictionary is a great page I recommend you check out. It has a lot of information.

For an interesting Masonic Blog, check out Brother Chris Hodapp's blog . Brother Chris is the author of Freemasons for Dummies, plus other Masonic books. You should find his blog very interesting. (note: if he skips a day, that means he is on a dinner speaking tour) (vbg)

A few more good sites are http://www.geocities.com/wduggan/freemasonry.html and Master Mason.US , and http://freemasonry.org who offer a ten part on line Masonic leadership course.

I would be remise if I did not mention the Masonic Service Association of North America The MSA has several distinct areas of service; among them Disaster Relief, V.A. Hospital Visitation Program, Education and Publications, and the Masonic Information Center. Read their site to learn more.

This page out of Italy is one I find to be very interesting. It appears to be written in four languages (since I only read one, I are not sure, but I think it is English, French, Spanish, and Italian.) It really has a lot of stuff you will not find in other places. It is called Freemasonry Pietre-Stones Review of Freemasonry
