Detroit York Rite College No. 1 is the mother college of the York Rite Sovereign College of North America. Detroit YRC No. 1 was founded in 1957 as the first York Rite College in the world. The York Rite Sovereign College of North America now has colleges in all 50 states of the United States, in 8 province's of Canada and in the Philippines. The York Rite Sovereign College evolved to bring a closer coordination between the several sovereign York Rite bodies.
Detroit YRC No.1 meets on the second Saturday of September, November, March, and May at 10 a.m. in the English Tudor Lodge Room on the third floor of the Detroit Masonic Temple.
